Save A Life 4.0 – Empowering the Future in Orji Town

Creating a Brighter Future: CHES Foundation’s Save A Life 4.0 in Orji Town

SAVE A LIFE 4.0 (12th and 13th May, 2023) – Orji town community, Owerri North, Imo State, Nigeria

In May 2023, the CHES Empowerment Foundation continued its unwavering commitment to community empowerment with the Save A Life 4.0 campaign. This year, the spotlight was on Orji Town, Owerri North, Imo State, Nigeria. The focus of this initiative was to empower the next generation of leaders—the children. The foundation reached out to over 550 children in Orji Town, fostering a two-day program that left a lasting impact.

DAY ONE

On the first day, the foundation provided hygiene seminars, emphasizing the importance of handwashing and other practices to enhance the children’s overall well-being. They also presented academic incentives to motivate young minds, including the distribution of academic materials.

Acknowledging the decline in child education in Nigeria, CHES Foundation awarded prizes, including brand new school uniforms, to the top 10 students. To further support education, they donated funds to the local school to purchase chairs, creating a more conducive learning environment.

One heartwarming moment during the Save A Life 4.0 outreach was when the foundation reached out to a woman in dire need. This woman had recently given birth, lost her baby, and was abandoned by her husband. To make matters worse, the hospital refused to release her due to her inability to pay the medical bills. CHES Foundation stepped in, fully offsetting her medical bills, amounting to approximately 100,000 to 110,000 Naira. This act of kindness allowed the woman to return home and move forward with her life, providing a glimmer of hope in her darkest hours.

DAY TWO

On the second day, the foundation shifted its focus to children living on the streets, recognizing their unique challenges. Sensitization efforts centered on hygiene and the importance of having dreams, no matter the circumstances. The children received books, pencils, and other resources to spark their interest in academics.

In addition to educational support, CHES Foundation distributed antiseptic disinfectants to combat water-borne diseases, promoting better health among the community’s most vulnerable.

Save A Life 4.0 in Orji Town was a testament to the foundation’s commitment to creating a brighter future for the children and communities they serve. It exemplified their dedication to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to chase their dreams and lead healthier, more prosperous lives.
